India-Oman Business Meet Strengthens Trade Ties in Key Sectors

Muscat, June 26, 2024 – The Embassy of India in Muscat orchestrated a successful India-Oman Business-to-Business (B2B) Meet, fostering direct interactions between Indian exporters and Omani importers. The event, held on June 26, 2024, witnessed the participation of 23 Indian companies representing the Agriculture, Processed Food, Spices, Engineering, and Construction sectors. Accompanied by 40 Omani companies, the meeting explored opportunities for enhanced bilateral trade and mutual growth.

His Excellency Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the robust commercial relations between India and Oman. The Embassy remains committed to facilitating business activities, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Strengthening Trade Relations

To further promote trade and economic cooperation, the IGTD Exim Chamber of Commerce led a business delegation from the aforementioned sectors. From June 25 to 27, 2024, this delegation explored significant opportunities for strengthening trade relations between India and Oman.

Growing Partnership

India and Oman share a long history of robust bilateral trade relations, marked by mutual trust and shared interests. Their consistent efforts have led to substantial growth in trade volumes across various sectors. Bilateral trade more than doubled from USD 5.4 billion in 2020-21 to USD 12.3 billion in 2022-23, underscoring the strength of their economic ties.
