After completing a Level 3 Certificate in Automotive Engineering at EIT, she is now doing her apprenticeship for the Level 4 Certificate. Journey into Automotive Engineering
Celia’s interest in automotive engineering began at a young age, influenced by her family’s love for cars. She grew up in Tairāwhiti and attended Gisborne Girls’ High School, where she excelled in technical subjects. Her passion for cars and hands-on learning led her to enroll in the Level 3 Certificate in Automotive Engineering at EIT. From July to April, she immersed herself in the program, learning every aspect of car mechanics and maintenance.
During her studies, Celia found the experience to be more rewarding than she had anticipated. The practical knowledge she gained during the course has been invaluable in her current apprenticeship at the Overnight Service Centre in Gisborne. Here, she gets to service vehicles and assist with various tasks, further honing her skills.
